Terms and Conditions

  1. Accommodation will automatically be cancelled if the deposit is not received by the due date. Deposits are not refundable in the event of a cancellation, or ‘non arrival’. No persons other than those quoted for, are permitted to share the accommodation.
  2. Please note that guests paying by credit card are required to present a valid photo ID and the credit card upon check in. A valid driver’s license, passport or ID is accepted forms of identification. Bookings where the guest is not the credit card holder will not be accepted unless the guest produces a copy of the credit card and a valid copy of the card holder’s ID upon check in. We reserve the right to not refund card fees (transaction costs) in the case of any cancellation or situation where funds need to be reversed back to a credit card.
  3. We follow an online Check-In Procedure. Link provided needs to be completed BEFORE arrival and before keys are handed over. Legally we are obliged to keep a register containing details of all persons who are provided with lodging or sleeping accommodation. We at Ocean Blue Guesthouse would like to ensure you that we are fully compliant of the POPI Act, as required by the South African law. We respect our guests’ rights to information privacy and will continue to protect your personal information.
  4. “RIGHT OF ADMISSION IS RESERVED.” Regrettably no visitors allowed.
  5. Outdoor CCTV cameras are installed on the premises to enhance security.
  6. Insurance: To avoid any misunderstanding, a booking constitutes a binding contract. All guests confirming a booking are advised to take out insurance to cover the full cost of their accommodation in the event of a cancellation. A non-refundable 50% deposit is payable to confirm the booking. A 100% non-refundable deposit is payable for single night stays. We will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be re-let, including premature curtailment. Balance to be paid in full BEFORE ARRIVAL. Regrettably Cash payments on arrival is NOT accepted.
  7. Cancellation Policy
    i. 1 Day before Arrival – Forfeit 100% of full stay.
    ii. 2 days or less from arrival, forfeits 85% of total stay.
    iii. Cancellation 3 days or more from arrival, forfeit 75% of the deposit,
    iv. Refund of the 50% deposit will be considered if booking is cancelled within 7 days from day of making the booking. Please note that an Admin Fee will be payable.
  8. Check-in time is from 14h00 until 18h00. Late check-ins to be arranged prior to arrival. Check-ins after 9 pm will incur a surcharge of R750.00. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO CHECK INS AFTER 21H00.
  9. Check Out Time is strictly 10h00.
  10. Please note that this is a noise free zone. Excessive noise and drunk and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated.
  11. This is a non-smoking unit. NO smoking of any kind allowed inside the unit. Thank you.
  12. A R300.00 Cleaning Fee is charged per unit per stay.
  13. Cleaning:
    a. The unit is serviced daily – No cleaning on Weekends/Public Holidays. Linen and towels are replaced as needed. To be more environmentally friendly, we do not change sheets/towels daily but weekly. Daily clean towels can be requested @ R25/towel/day. Kindly arrange BEFORE arrival.
    b. All rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each new arrival.
    c. Cleaning equipment and materials are available for your own use. There is also a washing machine for your convenience.
  14. House Rules:

a.

Parking for 1 vehicle allowed in dedicated area.

b.

No Parties or Functions allowed.

c.

CHECK OUT – Check out strictly no later than 10h00

d.

No Loud Music or Excessive Noise allowed.

e.

No additional guests are allowed on the property without permission. NO VISITORS.

f.

Wash, dry and replace used dishes and leave kitchen tidy.

g.

Although we love them dearly, regrettably NO PETS allowed.

h.

Remove rubbish and left-overs from kitchen and place in large bin outside.

i.

No Smoking, Vaping or Hubbly of any kind permitted.

j.

Place all used towels in the shower. DO NOT REMOVE TOWELS FROM THE UNIT.

k.

Beware of the monkeys. Please close all doors and windows when going out. Please DO NOT FEED them.

l.

Please do not move any furniture. No furniture to be taken outside. Camping chairs available for outside.
